Southbourne is Edwardian and interwar for the most part, which means chimneys in nearly every house and a lot of original fireplaces that have been reopened over the last twenty years. It is one of the parts of Bournemouth where we deliver most consistently, and almost all of it is bagged rather than tipped.
The reason is parking. The grid of roads between Southbourne Grove and the cliff is close to fully parked most of the day, and a tipped load needs somewhere off the road to land. By bag. Net bags and barrow bags are carried to where you want them – through a hallway, down a side passage, into a shed – rather than tipped in the road. Most of BH6 is delivered this way and it is included in the free delivery.
Usually. The lorry cranes the bag off and sets it down, which takes a couple of minutes and needs far less room than tipping. If there is a low wall, a gate or overhead cables in the way, mention it when you order and we will look at it beforehand.
Off the ground, covered on top and open at the sides – and resist wrapping it. Salt air and wind off the cliff mean a stack here needs to breathe more, not less. A fully tarped pile traps moisture and can be wetter by January than the day it arrived.
