Ash has been the most coveted firewood in Britain for centuries, and with good reason. It's one of the very few species that burns well even when the moisture content is a little higher than ideal — making it a more forgiving, consistent product than most hardwoods. Properly seasoned, as ours is, it's outstanding.
What sets our seasoned ash apart is that it's pure ash only — not blended. Many firewood suppliers mix ash in with other species and still call it "ash". We don't. When you order seasoned ash from us, every log in that delivery is ash. You get consistency, predictability and the full benefit of the species.
The ash comes from local tree surgery operations across Dorset, processed through our yard. Trees removed for maintenance, disease management or safety work — timber that would otherwise go to the chipper. It's 100% recycled, 100% local.
Ash burns with a beautiful steady flame, produces very low smoke and minimal residue, and gives excellent heat output across open fires and log burners alike. If you have an open fireplace and want the full visual experience — real flame, real warmth — seasoned ash is the product we'd recommend without hesitation.

The numbers behind it
Pure ash, every time
We know that "ash firewood" from many suppliers is actually a mix — ash makes up part of the load but other hardwoods are blended in. That's not our approach. When you order seasoned ash, that's exactly what you get: pure ash logs throughout.
This matters because ash has specific burning characteristics that you're paying for. Consistency of species means consistency of burn — the same lighting behaviour, the same heat output, the same flame every time you load the stove.
