The Same Wood, Five Prices

Net bags and barrow bags cost more per cubic metre because you are paying for the bag, the handling and the trip. This is kiln dried at every size we sell it.

Kiln dried firewood, delivered price divided by volume. The other four products follow the same shape.

22%cheaper per cubic metre to take a full transit than four ton bags of the same kiln dried wood.

A net bag is £500 a cubic metre. A full transit of the identical logs is £102. You are not buying better wood in the small bags — you are buying convenience, and it is expensive convenience.

So the only real question is how much you can keep dry. If you have a shed, a garage, a covered corner of the garden or even a pallet and a tarp, buy big once rather than small five times. If you genuinely have nowhere, bags are fine — just go in knowing what the convenience costs.

Firewood is a simple product sold by volume. If a supplier will not publish a number, the number changes depending on who is asking. Ours does not.

Nothing up front

No deposit, no card details, no payment until the wood is off the van and where you want it. Card, cash or bank transfer on the day.

The price is the price

Delivered and VAT included. No fuel surcharge, no minimum order fee, no charge for craning a ton bag off or tipping a transit where you ask.

The Money Questions

How much is a ton bag of logs?
A ton bag is 1.1 cubic metres. Kiln dried is £145, seasoned mixed £120, seasoned hardwood and seasoned ash £130 each, and unseasoned £80. All delivered, all including VAT, and all craned off the lorry and set down where you want them rather than dumped at the kerb.
Why is a full transit so much cheaper per cubic metre?
Because you are paying for one trip instead of four, and no bags. A ton bag of kiln dried works out at £132 a cubic metre; a full transit of exactly the same logs is £102. The wood is identical — the difference is handling and packaging, and it is about 22%.
Are these prices delivered, and do they include VAT?
Yes to both, everywhere in the free delivery zone — BH1–BH18, BH21–BH24, BH31 and SP6. Nothing is added at the door. Outside that zone the wood costs the same and a delivery charge applies, which we quote before you commit to anything.
Do I have to pay anything when I order?
No. There is no deposit and we do not take card details to book a slot. You pay the driver when the wood is off the van and in the right place — card, cash or bank transfer.
Do your prices change through the winter?
The list on this page is the list. We do not raise prices in a cold snap or when everyone runs out at once. What does change in deep winter is how far ahead you need to book, so if you know you will want wood in January, ordering in October costs the same and gets you a better choice of days.
Is there a cheaper price if I buy several loads?
For households, the full transit is already the bottom of the list and there is nothing below it. For pubs, holiday lets, campsites, estates and anyone taking regular volume, accounts are priced individually and invoiced monthly rather than paid per drop.
Why is unseasoned firewood so much less?
Because it is fresh cut and you do the drying. At £59 a cubic metre in a full transit it is the cheapest wood on the list by a distance, but it needs 12 to 18 months stacked somewhere airy and covered before it will burn properly. Buy it for next winter, not this one.
How do I know I am getting the volume I paid for?
Everything is sold by loose cubic metre and the bag and van sizes are fixed and published: a net bag is 0.03m³, a barrow bag 0.275m³, a ton bag 1.1m³, a half transit 2.2m³ and a full transit 4.4m³. When a transit is tipped on your drive you can see the whole load at once, which is rather the point.
